Racing At The Pit

Virginia Liftmasters Mud Bog Classes

Stock Class

  1. Stock frame –NO extended frames allowed

  2. Maximum tire size 33”

  3. Must have a valid state inspection

  4. Must have current license plates

  5. DOT approved tires only

  6. (No paddle tires, no tractor tires)

  7. No cut tires allowed

  8. Engine must be stock for that vehicle

  9. After market exhaust allowed

  10. Suspension lift kits allowed

  11. No nitrous oxide, super chargers, or turbo’s

  12. (Unless installed from factory)

  13. Must have seat belt or racing type harness

  14. DOT helmet required

  15. Must have a tow hook or recovery chain mounted to the frame

 

Mud Bog A Class

  1. Stock frame – No extended frames allowed

  2. 33’ to 36’ tire size

  3. DOT approved tires only

  4. (no paddle tires, no tractor tires, etc)

  5. No cut tires allowed.

  6. Must be stock frame

  7. After market exhaust allowed     May run open headers

  8. Engine must be in stock location

  9. (Ex. Front or rear vehicle)

  10. Suspension lift kits allowed

  11. No nitrous oxide, super charges or turbo’s

Mud Bog B Class

  1. Stock frame – No extended frames allowed

  2. 37’ to 40” Tire Size

  3. DOT approved tires only

  4. (No paddle tires, no tractor tires, etc)

  5. No cut tires allowed

  6. After market exhaust allowed   May run open headers

  7. Engine must be in stock position

  8. (Ex. Front or rear vehicle)

  9. Suspension lift kits allowed

  10. No nitrous oxide, super charges, or turbo’s

Mud Bog C Class

  1. Stock frame – No extended frames allowed

  2. 40’ to 44” tire size (no 38 x 11.00 Boggers)

  3. DOT approved tires only

  4. (No paddle tires, no tractor tired, etc)

  5. No cut tires allowed.

  6. After market exhaust allowed   May run open headers

  7. Engine must be in stock position

  8. (Ex. Front or rear vehicle)

  9. Suspension lift kits allowed

  10. No nitrous oxide, super charges, or turbo’s

  11. (unless installed from factory)

  12. Must have seat belt or racing type harness

  13. DOT helmet required

Mud Bog D Class

  1. Extended frames allowed

  2. Any tire size or type is allowed

  3. (Except paddle or scoop tires)

  4. No cut tires

  5. Suspension lift kits allowed

  6. After market exhaust allowed   May run open headers

  7. No nitrous oxide, super charges, or turbo’s

  8. (unless installed from factory)

  9. Must have seat belt or racing type harness

  10. No tube frames allowed

  11. DOT helmet required

  12. Must have a tow hook or recovery chain mounted to frame

 

No Vehicles allowed to race under 1800 lbs. in all classes

Virginia Liftmasters Mud Bog Rules 

1.      All drivers must possess a current, valid driver’s license. Drivers under the age of 18 must have written, on site permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2.      All drivers must sign a safety waiver.

3.      Registration for event ends promptly at 11:30am. If you do not register before then, YOU DO NOT RACE. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS! 

4.      Vehicles may only be registered twice (2) each with different driver in each class, and the vehicle can only place ONCE in the TOP FIVE in EACH CLASS 

5.      All drivers must wear a helmet and seat belt until out of bog pit. 

6.      All vehicles must pass an on sight safety and tech inspection before registration. If at any time after the initial inspection, a vehicle is found illegal for any class in which it is entered, the vehicle will be disqualified for the remainder of the event. 

7.      The front end cannot exceed 12 inches from the stock location. 

8.      The motor cannot exceed 12 inches from the stock location of the vehicles original frame, not the body that is on the truck. 

9.      The tire size must coincide with specifications for the class in which you are competing. No Exceptions. 

10.  Tire spinning and hot-dogging in pit area or by track will not be tolerated. 

11.  Vehicle must have brakes capable of stopping within a safe distance. 

12.  Batteries must be securely mounted. 

13.  Full firewall and floorboards are required in A, B, & C classes. Cooling systems must be shielded from driver and bog worker. 

14.  Drivers appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will NOT be permitted to compete and may be asked to leave the premises.  

15.  Disqualification – any driver coming out of the side of the pit or race area, failing to bring a legal truck to the line, failing to stop at the end of a full run will be disqualified. In addition, drivers will be disqualified for leaving before the green flag. 

16.  Any open top or soft-top vehicles must have roll cage securely mounted. 

17.  No glass containers allowed on premises. 

18.  No alcoholic beverages from outside sources allowed on premises. Alcoholic beverages will be sold on site for your convenience. 

19.  Disputes with race officials will not be tolerated. All rulings will be final. 

20.  A $50.00 protest fee must accompany protests. You must present your fee before you will be allowed to present your case. In the event that the protest is valid, your fee will be refunded. If your protest is not valid, the protested driver will receive the $50.00. Protests must come only from registered drivers within the class involved. Protests may only be made by approaching specific race officials who are designated at the driver’s meeting. Do not approach any driver you wish to protest. 

21.  Refunds for registration: The refund needs to be picked up before the class competition starts or no refund will be awarded. 

22.  In the event of a tie, the tying drivers will split the prize money for that place & the next lower place. All entrants below that place will be moved one place down in the standings. If trophies are awarded, the tying drivers will flip a coin to decide which driver will be awarded the larger trophy.  

23.  All drivers will draw a number at registration to establish a running order. 

24.  Vehicles will be brought up and staged in order of their class. A vehicle has 5 minutes to stage and get to the line after the truck has been called to the line. 

25.  Wash off area will be available for vehicles, not trailers. 

26.  Time starts with forward movement of the race vehicle. Time will stop when the front of the vehicle crosses the finish line or with the waving of a red flag (forward motion has stopped) 

27.  A vehicle can enter twice in one class division as long as there are two different drivers assigned to the vehicle-ŕ but the truck can only place in the class division ONCE. 

28.  Women drivers are eligible and welcome to run. 

29.  Vehicle must have a frame-mounted hitch or safe place to hook cable, as established by our judges, before registration. 

30.  All vehicles will go into the hole with a cable on the back. A line up judge will be sure it is right. 

31.  In the event that time runs out, or for some reason we must cancel, rain checks will be given to those competitors not able to run. 

32.  No chains permitted on tires. 

33.  No passengers permitted. 

34.  Once your vehicle enters the mud pit there will be no backing up. 

35.  While being pulled from the hole, you must leave your tires straight. 

36.  Keep vehicle in neutral while being pulled out, unless instructed different. 

37.  Guaranteed cash payout based on ten (10) entries in each class. 

38.  No Nitrous. If nitrous is found, you will not be allowed to run. This includes any type of nitrous hook-up. No nitrous means exactly that -  NO NITROUS! 

39.  No animals allowed except for handicapped persons. 

40.  No rails & vehicles under 1800 lbs.

41.  Registration fee -- $25.00 to $35.00 

42.  Fighting, Stealing, Theft, and/or vandalism will not be tolerated at any time. Anyone involved in such activities will be immediately expelled from the premises and could face criminal and/or civil charges. 

43.  Violation of these rules by competitors will result in disqualification. 

44.  Vehicles running in the STREET CLASS division cannot run in any other division. 

45.  All decisions made by VA Liftmasters & VA Motorsports Park are FINAL! 

46.  Remember this is a hobby not a profession so please practice good sportsmanship and try to be a good example because whether you realize it or not, a lot of people and kids look up to you because of these trucks and mud bogging.
