| Martin Survives, Prepares For Showdown With "Slim"
Michael Martin emerged victorious from the High Roller Match Races this past Friday night after JC Richardson red-lighted in the final round of competition. Martin arrived in the finals by beating Bill Harris in the opening round. Richardson eliminated Pluck in his first round match race. Martin will now gear up to face Slim, who won the July 25th High Roller Match Races, at the Fall Bash on September 13th at VMP. When asked about facing Martin in three weeks Slim told the Friday night crowd, “It doesn’t really matter to me who I race. For all I care you could line all four of them up and I’ll beat every one of them.”

| Householder Sweeps Through Mopar Weekend
It was all Mopars all weekend as VMP held its annual Mopar Madness. It was a successful weekend for Dan Householder of Marriottsville, Maryland as he took both Mopar Footbrake Races. On Saturday, as the number one qualifier, he found himself in the winner’s circle after finals opponent Jim Hanrahan red lighted. Despite having to settle for being the number two qualifier on Sunday, Householder took out top qualifier Johnny Burch in the finals with a 10.97, 120 MPH pass. In other Mopar action VMP racer Robert Clay came up short in Saturday’s Super Pro Race after Gary White used a near perfect .001 tree to claim top honors. Sunday’s Super Pro Race saw Jeffrey Jones take home the win after Johnny Grubb went red in the final round. In the Mopar Truck Race, top qualifier Edd Cherry defeated John Walker with a 15.79, 83 MPH pass. James Miller won Sunday’s Mopar Street Race over Jared Corbett with a 12.06, 118 MPH performance.
VMP also held a Junior Dragster Points Race Sunday. Top qualifier Britany George defeated Jessica Goodman to claim top honors and move herself into third place in the Junior Standings. George now trails second place Anthony Stanco by five points and leader Hunter Hughes by 28.

| Division One ET Bracket Finals Update
The 2008 Division One ET Bracket Finals will be held September 25-27 at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, PA. VMP will be permitted to take a team of up to 50 racers to the competition. All racers must be registered in the VMP Points Program and have their memberships, liscenses, and competition numbers up to date.
