Super Chevy Show Set To Celebrate 30th Anniversary Under New Ownership

The ownership group, SCSW, Inc., put the finishing touches on the purchase of the Super Chevy Show series today. The ownership group purchased the series from President and owner, Roger Gustin. The sale was completed this week, giving the new owners time to prepare for the 2010 schedule.

In a series that offers drag racing, car shows, swap meets and collector cars for sale, the new owners want to ensure a great form of entertainment gets even better for everyone including fans, sponsors and participants. The schedule will feature some of the nation's top racing facilities, and will be released soon.

Gustin has been the series owner for 15 years and thinks the sale will only benefit from the change in ownership.

"Now is the time for major changes in the world of motorsports and I think the owners of SCSW, Inc., will bring a new dimension to the series and will work to make sure the series is around to celebrate more milestone anniversaries in the future," Gustin said. "My family and I have been involved with the series for several years and we are proud that we were able to help the sport grow by working with great sponsors, participants, tracks and Super Chevy Magazine while cultivating the best fans around."

Forward Sports Marketing will be the national event coordinator for the series. The agency will work with each of the 10 tracks to ensure there is uniformity with the schedule and format at each event. Adding localized elements to each event, however, is what will make the 2010 season unique.

"We are going to work with each of the tracks to make sure there is consistency on some levels, but the tracks will also be able to put a local emphasis on the event," Forward Sports Marketing's Ryan Haas said. "We will manage the series at a national level and will empower the track operators to manage their specific event to give fans and participants exactly what they want."

Haas said the new owners have a passion for creating the best possible product for fans, participants and sponsors.

“Forward Sports Marketing and the track owners are working to develop new feature attractions for the drag racing portion of the show, and we are already in discussions about adding collector car auctions and televised broadcast to all events,” Haas said. "The owners are going to make some exciting changes. We’re going to pay more attention to the car show and add some elements to the events that will attract greater numbers of fans and car enthusiasts."

Super Chevy Magazine will maintain an exclusive partnership with the series to provide readers and fans the best and most up-to-date information possible.

"We're thrilled with the sale because we think a great product is going to be even better," Jim Campisano, Editorial Director of GM Performance Group, said. "Roger and his team did a great job with the Super Chevy Show over the years. The new owners are all personally invested in taking the series to the next level of entertainment and enjoyment for fans, participants and readers of Super Chevy Magazine."

Racers, car show participants, fans, vendors, and sponsors alike can call 1-800-692-6230 to receive further information on the Super Chevy Show series.
